The 4 keynote speakers to the congress are now in position.
We are happy to announce Martin Marshall as the 4th keynote speaker.
Martin Marshall is director of clinical quality at the Health Foundation in London. Previously, he held positions as deputy chief medical officer, head of the School of Primary Care, professor of general practice and a part-time general practitioner in an inner-city practice. Prior to these positions he was a principal in general practice in Exeter for 10 years. His research interests are in the field of policy-related quality of care—the development, use and abuse of quality indicators in primary care, the public disclosure of information about performance, patient safety in primary care and the relationship between organizational culture and quality improvement.
Martin Marshall’s lecture has the title: ‘Practice, Politics and Possibilities’.
Martin will look at the challenges to medical generalism in modern society and how we might promote or even ‘sell’ general practice to the public and to policy makers, drawing on social marketing techniques.
